Gas Transmission

The gas injection and withdrawal capacity is ordered by the SSO from the transmission system operator (TSO) and, according to the provisions of the Transmission Network Code, the SSO obtains the capacity allocation (PP). The capacity charges applied according to the TSO’s tariff for gas transmission services are paid by the SSO.

The costs of capacity allocation are included in the tariff for gas storage services. The customers of the SSO (Storage Customers) do not pay directly any charges for the transmission of gas to the points of entry to and exit from the storage facilities in which they contracted storage services. The costs related to transmission charges are covered by the Storage Customers under the invoices for storage services (proportionally to the quantity of contracted services).

Moreover, in order for the storage service to be provided for the benefit of a Storage Customer, the latter is obliged to obtain so-called transmission ability allocation (PZ) from the TSO, which is free of charge.
