Offered Services

Gas Storage Poland Sp. z o.o. (SSO) provides the Storage Service through the following Storage Facility and Groups of Storage Facilities:

  1. GSF Kawerna (comprises the following CUGS facilities developed in salt caverns CUGS Mogilno and CUGS Kosakowo)
  2. GSF Sanok (comprises the following UGS facilities developed in partly depleted natural gas fields UGS Husów, UGS Strachocina, UGS Swarzów and UGS Brzeźnica),
  3. Storage Facility of UGS Wierzchowice.

Gas Storage Poland Sp. z o.o. (SSO) offers gas storage services in the form of Bundled Units, Flexible Bundled Units or as Unbundled Storage Service.

Whenever a Bundled Unit (or its integer multiple) is ordered, the Applicant orders the combination of: Working Volume, Injection Capacity and Withdrawal Capacity (in accordance with the parameters specified in the Tariff).

Whenever a Flexible Bundled Unit (or its integer multiple) is ordered, the Applicant orders the combination of: Injection Capacity and Withdrawal Capacity within a certain predefined range and Working Volume (in accordance with the parameters specified in the Tariff).

The Unbundled Storage Service may be ordered by an Applicant who already has the Storage Services Agreement (SSA), as well as by an Applicant who, as yet, has not entered into the SSA. When ordering the Unbundled Storage Service, the Applicant orders separately: Working Volume, Injection Capacity or Withdrawal Capacity.

The Day-Ahead Storage Service is available as a service to the Storage Customer being a party to a Long-Term SSA or Short-Term SSA or Day-Ahead SSA executed at an earlier date. Day-Ahead Storage Service an Unbundled Short-Term Firm Storage Service offered for the next Gas Day. When ordering the Day-Ahead Storage Service, the Storage Customer orders, individually, the following components from the SSO: Injection Capacity, Withdrawal Capacity, Working Volume. The Day-Ahead Storage Service is provided exclusively on Firm Basis according to clause 2.3.3.4 with a constant Injection Capacity and a constant Withdrawal Capacity for a full Gas Day. The principles concerning the Extension or Reduction of Offered Services shall not apply.

The Intraday Storage Service is available as an additional service to any Storage Customer being a party to a Long-Term SSA or Short-Term SSA executed at an earlier date.

In case when the Intraday Storage Service is ordered, the Storage Customer orders unused Nominal Injection Capacity or unused Nominal Withdrawal Capacity from the SSO when the possibility arises for the SSO to offer such unused Nominal Injection Capacity or unused Nominal Withdrawal Capacity for the current or the next Storage Day. The Intraday Storage Service is provided exclusively on an Interruptible Basis.

Depending on the duration, Storage Services are divided into:

Storage Service in the form of a Bundled Unit and Storage Service in the form of a Flexible Bundled Unit are offered as Long-Term Storage Services as well as Short-Term Storage Services.
The Unbundled Storage Service is offered as a Long-Term Storage Service for one Storage Year, as a Short-Term Storage Service (Monthly Storage Service, Weekly Storage Service or Day-Ahead Storage Service ) and as a Intraday Storage Service.

Storage Services may be provided either on a Firm Basis or on an Interruptible Basis. The SSO may offer Interruptible Storage Service to the Storage Customer when it has no possibility to offer Firm Storage Service, providing it has free Storage Capacity at its disposal.

The SSO may interrupt or curtail the provision of Interruptible Storage Services in particular when this is necessary to ensure undisturbed provision of Firm Storage Services by SSO or in order for SSO to fulfil its obligations under the Stockpiling Act, or in the situations described in the Storage Code. The duration of interruption or restriction in the provision of Interruptible Storage Services shall depend on the level of UGS or CUGS filling.

In case when restrictions are introduced with respect to the provision of an Interruptible Storage Service, the Storage Capacity of respective Storage Customers who are a party to Interruptible SSAs shall be reduced on a pro rata basis.

The SSO, in offering Storage Capacity, assumes that the Gross Calorific Value of Gaseous Fuel injected to a Storage Facility or Group of Storage Facilities, or withdrawn from such facility or group of facilities is equal to the Reference Gross Calorific Value (39.5 MJ/m3).

When Gaseous Fuel with Gross Calorific Value exceeding the Reference Gross Calorific Value is injected to or withdrawn from a Storage Facility or Group of Storage Facilities, the SSO offers the Extension of Offered Services, as described in clause 2.3.4 of the Storage Code. Under the Extension of Offered Services, the SSO offers, free of charge:

When Gaseous Fuel with Gross Calorific Value lower than the Reference Gross Calorific Value is injected to or withdrawn from a Storage Facility or Group of Storage Facilities, the SSO introduces a reduction of the offered Storage Services according to clause 2.3.5 of the Storage Code (Reduction of Offered Services).
